Mornington Peninsula Mother’s Day Weekend Guide 2026

Mother’s Day on the Mornington Peninsula does not really need much help.

You have the views, the wineries, the little villages, the beaches, the cafés, and plenty of places where lunch somehow turns into most of the afternoon. So if you are trying to work out what to do for Mother’s Day weekend on Sunday 10 May 2026, the good news is you do not need to overthink it. There are already local events and outings popping up across the Peninsula, including Mother’s Day at Jetty Road Brewery on 10 May 2026 and a Mother’s Day Workshop at Peachy Keen Ceramics on the same day.

That is probably why Mother’s Day works so well down here. It can be simple without feeling boring. You do not have to plan some huge, over-the-top day to make it feel special. Sometimes it is just a nice meal somewhere local, a wander through a market, maybe a stop for coffee, maybe a drive along the coast, and that is enough. The Peninsula already does the heavy lifting.

If lunch is the main plan, that is easy. There are plenty of places that suit a relaxed long lunch, and some venues are already putting on Mother’s Day-specific events. Jetty Road Brewery in Dromana is one of them, with its Mother’s Day event running from 11am to 9pm on Sunday 10 May 2026. That sort of option works well because it feels local and easy, without trying too hard.

If you want the day to feel a bit more thoughtful, or a bit less expected, there are other options too. Peachy Keen Ceramics has a Mother’s Day Workshop on Saturday 10 May 2026 from 2pm to 4pm, which is the kind of plan that feels a little more personal than just booking a table somewhere. It gives you something to actually do together, and that is usually what people remember most anyway.

And if you are the kind of family that likes to keep things fairly relaxed, you could just build your own day. Start with breakfast, go for a coastal walk, browse a market, then head somewhere nice for lunch. The Mornington Racecourse Market is also on Sunday 10 May 2026 from 9am, which gives you another easy idea if you want something casual before settling in somewhere for the afternoon.

That is really the nice thing about Mother’s Day on the Peninsula. It does not have to look one particular way. It can be polished and planned out, or it can be simple and last-minute. A lunch booking, a market wander, a creative workshop, or just time together somewhere lovely all feel like they fit down here. The local Mother’s Day guides from Visit Mornington Peninsula lean into exactly that sort of slower, more thoughtful day.

So if you are thinking about what to do for Mother’s Day this year, the Peninsula makes it pretty easy. Pick the kind of day that suits your family best, keep it simple, and make the most of being somewhere that already feels like a treat. That is usually more than enough.
